Gebo - 495 x 495mm Houdini Super 50 Replacement Hatch

One&Only choice for opening replacement of old-style-hatch, big rays in corners.

I got one of theses to replace my 1991 Houdini hatch which beginning to leak quite badly.
Good points: Looks good, fits the old aperture ok and the friction hinge is more functional.
Not so good points: Flimsy locking mechanism, not easy to unlock/lock, no safety bars so wouldn't want to step on it, despite the product info the radius isn't quite the same but close enough leaving a bit of a gap around the flange visible inside the cabin.

Fit perfect in the hole left from the ord hudini.

Order & delivery was very smooth. I got the hatch delivered to my home address in Sweden after just a couple of days. The hatch works great, boat looks 15 years younger. I'm very happy!

Alluminium finish is very good but the rubber seal around the Perspex looks like it was trimmed with a blunt chainsaw. I have removed the lid to install the frame( which of course doesn't fit the opening, but then it is a boat -Houdini hatch coming out) the frame is butt joined at the back with a sticky sealant and I reckon will want careful attention to make sure it doesn't weep. Catches and fittings ar a bit cheap and nasty but it does look a lot smarter than the 40 yr old Houdini. But will it last ?
