Epifanes Clear Varnish, known around the world, is considered the ultimate in high gloss finish. This traditional marine varnish is based on tung oil, phenolic-modified alkyd resins and maximum U.V. absorbers. It has outstanding protection for all marine and household woods and can be applied to Interior and exterior woods above the waterline. It offers superior flow and durability. In addition, it has excellent flexibility and water resistance in all climate conditions. Epifanes Clear Gloss Varnish Technical Data

Type Oxidative drying
Base Phenolic resin / Alkyd resin / Tung oil
Properties Extreme high gloss, unique flow characteristics and high build capacity. The UV filter prevents the wood against discolouration. Its flexibility prevents cracking on working wood. This varnish is famous for its high gloss retention, long lasting properties, even in tropical climates. 
Field of application New work on bare solid wood (mahogany, meranti, Oregon pine) and plywood both for inside and outside above the waterline. Maintenance of intact existing (one- and two-component) varnishes regardless which brand.

Epifanes Clear Gloss Varnish Application Advice

If needed, thin down up to 10% to enhance the flowing ability. More coats will provide deeper lustre and provide additional UV protection. Always apply along the wood grain and allow sufficient time to settle. Avoid retipping.
